About the WPPGA:
The mission of the WPPGA is to enhance the sport of powered paragliding by setting basic safety standards for paramotor equipment and training and to ensure those standards are met or exceeded by our schools and instructors. We strive to work with local, state, federal, and global governments to help ensure that the freedoms we enjoy today will be here for our children tomorrow.
When it comes to safety, we err on the side of excess. Other organizations like the usppa have failed to require their instructors to meet any level of competency and neglect to establish basic safety requirements for equipment. This has resulted in inadequate and untrained “instructors” passing on bad habits and poor knowledge to their students. In addition, they push equipment lacking critical safety features. All of this has led to injuries, death, and damage to the sport. Our goal is to ensure that our powered paragliding instructors have not only mastered the skills and knowledge themselves, but are exceptionally proficient at passing it on to their students. We refuse to promote paramotor instructors that we would not trust with our own loved ones with and do not accept the damage caused by organizations like the usppa. We do NOT play to all sides in order to get acceptance and recognition, but are here for the truth. The truth and nothing but the truth is your best ally and that is the reason why the WPPGA has continued to maintain the highest level of safety in the world.
The WPPGA is the place to look for information on how to get the best and safest instruction and equipment. We are funded by real pilots and professionals that have a genuine interest in making this industry the safest, most fun, freest, and most affordable form of personal aviation ever devised. All of our staff donate their time, talents and financial assistance with the sincere intent to help you get the most out of this incredible sport with the least amount of risk possible. It is not possible to assemble some of the most experienced and skilled pilots in the world without any of them having pre-conceived notions or biases, however, we promise to do everything possible to ensure the information on this site is not based on any financial interest. It is here to serve YOUR best interest. When your best interest is served, injuries and deaths are drastically reduced and the image of the sport is lifted, ensuring a bright future for us all.
